About the breeders of After All Australian Shepherds...

Janet and Spice

Janet White bought her first registered dog (a Jack Russell Terrier) in 1989 when she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. She began going to an obedience school where she met a fun lady named Melinda Macie Stamper (who had a Corgi at the time). Melinda began trialing in AKC obedience, but as Jack Russells were not AKC registered at the time, Janet had to resort to showing her Jacks in obedience at the local Texas ASCA affiliate shows. It was there that Janet fell in love with the versatile, colorful Aussie and began her search for a multi-talented, red merle bitch. It took several years, but finally Janet found her doggy soul mate in Spice. (Thank you Becci Maloney!) Spice is part of the foundation of After All and she is a special, extraordinary dog. Melinda couldn't help but agree that Spice was something special, and she "switched" to Aussies, too. We've never looked back!

Janet has been trialing in obedience since 1990 and she became an all level ASCA obedience judge in 2001. She has been on the ASCA obedience committee for several years and currently serves as the committee chair person.

Janet became an ASCA provisional breeder judge in 2003 and has judged all over the country as well as in Germany. In the summer of 2006, she finished her requirements for senior breeder judge status. Janet currently serves on the ASCA conformation committee.

Janet White lives in Bluffton, SC and works at Hilton Head Preparatory School on  Hilton Head Island. She teaches 6th and 8th grade English to support her dog hobby. Janet married Richard White (her former high school English teacher!) in 1992 and they have two sons - Devin born in 1993 and Colin born in 1995.

Oh, and she makes a wicked margarita!

Melinda "Mel" Gann started playing with the idea of showing back in 1986 when the family purchased a lovely Alaskan Malamute named Lady. She then got serious about showing in 1989 with Pembroke Welsh Corgis. She and Janet met at an Obedience School where they became friends. Mel went with Janet to a few ASCA shows back when Janet was trialing her JRTs. When Janet first got Spice, Mel fell in love with her, so she had to have an Aussie, too. She searched for a few years before getting her first Aussie, "Yogi". Though he was a GREAT obedience dog, Mel had already been bitten by the conformation bug and wanted an all around dog. That is when she found "Doodle" to whom she refers as her HEART BEAT! (Thank you, Nancy Pelletier!) Doodle then became the other part of the foundation of After All, and is NOW an ASCA HALL OF FAME DAM!

Mel is an currently an ASCA novice obedience judge and a breeder judge. Mel has judged several sweeps and matches and recently judged Aussies in Finland. She hopes to be a senior breeder judge someday.

Mel lives in Arlington, Texas and is a stay at home doggie mom. She is the mother of two boys - Timothy, born in 1984 and Joshua, born in 1985. Josh and his beautiful wife Chandra made Mel a GRANNY Feb. 9, 2007. Both boys are currently in the United States Army. Mel married Rick Gann in Jan, 2001, and he gave her the daughter she always wanted, Channing, born in 1987. Rick then became the third member of the After All gang.
